Emerald Casino hosted the raceday at the pleasant Vaal racetrack with the running of the Emerald Cup the richest dirt race in South Africa.

Gold Game a son of the Mr Prospector stallion Choctaw Ridge was sent up from Durban by his young trainer Dylan Cunha after some fantastic workouts in pre morning gallops and the confidence was oozing before the race over 1000 meters being the listed Sofomore Sprint.

This race was targeted 3 months ago Dylan was very nervous before the race but with young up and coming jock Devon Habib in the saddle the result was only in doubt for the first 300 meters afterwhich he blew a competitive field of  3 year olds away turning on the heat very impressively.

Delight and pleasure was  brought  to his very happy owners all of Mike Gremmanie John Sukrin Tony Da Aguiar  and Anfield Sports. Fantasic owners who have inested heavily with Anfield Sports.

Big things look ahead for this 3 year old and Dylan and myself will be planning hs next start with much enthuisiasm making sure we map out a good road map.

About an hour later Anfield Sports son of Danehil Meteor Shower recorded his 5th win in the rainny city of Cape Town and hopefully a big race is just around the corner.His future looks like he i still ontrack to becoming a stallion.Keep it up Mike Bass we need a big one.

To top the day off Usual winner another Brazilian import won the last race of the day giving Corne Spies a double on the day and this Brazilian filly looks sure to win again in the near future.

Its this time off year and our latest Brazilian purchasers will be shiping out of Brazil next week heaing for the Cape Town quarentine station and that means exiteent times as  there new owners are waiting  to see there new purchasers in the flesh .

Eleven  2 year olds will be arriving of which 6 have been sold outright and the other 5 Anfield Sports will be syndicating amongst friends and new clients and shares will be available in a month or so.

To top the weekend off waiting in the wing after Gold Games great win was the Merseyside Derby   and the presure was over when the  text message said 1-0 to the reds .This year really looks like it could be a red year.Go Rafa.
